The Royal National Mod is a celebration in competitions of Gaelic culture and music. Participants vary in age from 5 to 95 and come not just from the traditional Gaelic heartlands of Scotland, but also from elsewhere in the UK as well as Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, to mention but a few places. An Lanntair
During the 2005 Mod, competitions were held at several venues across the town, including the newly opened arts centre An Lanntair (left), as well as the Town Hall (pictured right).
